We took Natalie on her first ski trip...We usually go to Colorado skiing but decided to try something different...Angel Fire is a real small resort with just enough snow...it is really great for families..but not if your child gets sick?? We took Natalie skiing on Monday...she liked it allot..especially the ski lift chair...she thought that was great...we first started off with her in a skiing harness...taught her to walk like a duck...OK that was good..then one of the ski school instructors said the harness was dangerous..so we took it off of her...she did pretty well with dad helping her...between his legs...but that made Jubal's back hurt..so we decided to just let her go...Jubal gave her a little push and off, off, off she went down the hill 90 to nothing...she went flying down the hill...Jubal was chasing her..I was screaming get her , get her..so I yelled out ...run away kid...... a ski instructor just happened to be in her path and saved her life " as Natalie would put it"... it was funny after the fact...but scary during it...after that she decided she was tired...little did we know that she was getting sick...that evening she had a high fever..and coughing...I decided she needed some Tylenol or something..so I sent Jubal to find some...well in a small town..everything closes at 10:00pm it was past 11:00pm..nothing open..so Jubal had to drive to Tao's to get the medicine...which was 24 miles of mountain hills? he made it back with the medicine and she got alittle better...Tuesday evening she coughed and coughed...she couldn't breath...because of the altitude and from being sick...We decided to go to the local clinic...it turned out that she had the beginnings of pneunonia..again..she had it in December too?
So we had to get her out of the altitude because she couldn't breath very well...we packed up our suitcases and headed home..2 days early...Moral of this story...always have a medicine cabinet for the kids!!!! We had fun even though it was a short trip....Next year Natalie will be a real down hill skier!!!
